Tensegrity Prosthetics Inc. is launching a revolution in prosthetic feet. The Company’s technology provides comfort and stability where conventional prosthetic feet offer rigidity and imbalance—major causes of irregular walking gait and serious biomechanical problems.
In the 1950s, scientists invented the SACH foot, the basis of the conventional prosthetic foot. In the 1980s, the carbon-fiber foot first allowed amputees to run, but it still didn’t walk much better than the 1950s technology. In 2010, the Tensegrity foot took the next major step forward.
